Cracked Roses



The photo's not great.. sorry about that. I think I've lost the original. Aaaanywayyy, the crackled effect was achieved by layering up Versamark and clear embossing powder, heated to triple thickness (hence the term 'triple embossing'). Once cooled, you can gently bend the image until it cracks. Sometimes it works well, sometimes it doesn't. Then, I layered it onto black cardstock, wrapped it with glittery silver thread, trimmed down the length of a paper rosebud and glued that between the threads. The 'Happy Birthday' was printed onto the card blank first, and then the focal image glued in place. If you want a bit more dimension, you could mount it on 3D pads.
