Mother's Day 2008

Lots going on with this one! 'Mum' is computer-generated, using Wordart. The light green in the layers is vellum, and the silver is my all-time favourite embossed cardstock. There is a dark green satin ribbon down the centre of the panel and border punched vellum at top and bottom. The panel is raised slightly from the background on low profile foam pads. The background is a decorative paper, with a little stamping; the 'Love' word is stamped, for example. I have cut flowers and foliage from more paper and stuck it randomly to the panel and painted it with slightly diluted Craft Planet glitter glue. The green organza ribbon has a sparkly quality, too, and there's a touch of sparkle on the rosebuds. There is also a little metal dragonfly on the tail of the bow.

Mother's Day Card

This was made last year for the friend I made the draft Rainbow invitation designs for (scroll back about three posts for them). Her baby arrived two weeks early, just in time for Mother's Day, so I had to act fast! This uses some pretty rose paper, Anna Griffin rose die-cuts and a Quickutz alphabet for the letters.

Early Mother's Day

… Or you could say this is late. I made it for my lovely mum, several years ago. Sadly, she's not with us any more, and I miss her like crazy. Always will.

But enough of that (sniff).. this is posted for crafty sharing...

As you can see, it's extremely simple. The word is handwritten, and the border lines are hand-drawn. I used a Sizzix leaf spray, a bow and some roses and rosebuds, and a faux purple cabochon gem.

Mother's Day Daffofil

I have a plan. I do. I have decided. The thing is that after all this time, and several hundred posts, I haven't a hope of remembering which cards I have posted before, and which I haven't, but I figure that anyone viewing this blog going forward is unlikely to have seen them before, so I'm going to more or less start again! So (I know you shouldn't start a sentence with 'So', but it's convenient... so there)… So here's a Mother's Day card. Unseasonal, I know, but I'm just blogging as I come across the files - one Christmas and one Non-Christmas every day - unless I have a fresh one to show you.

I should maybe also mention that I moved house a while ago, and much of my stash is still in boxes in the spare room which will become my craft studio, IF I can ever get it sorted. If you ask me what stash I used on a particular card, therefore - particularly if it's an old one - the chances are the answer will be, "It's in a box somewhere. I'll let you know if I find it."

Here's a slightly different version..

Oh Mojo, Mojo.. Wherefore art thou, Mojo?

There I sat on Sunday morning.. still no card made... at my craft table, waiting for inspiration to strike. The wind whistled through the room. Ghostly tumbleweed drifted through the space where my mojo once lived... and this is the best I could come up with. (sigh) I know. You don't have to tell me. Bluuurrrgghh. But my mum liked it.

No news on t'job front. Will let you know when something happens. Meanwhile, keep those digits limbered, OK?
Hugs,
Chris xx
