Tea Frogs

This one is another old one being trotted out again for another airing. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with that; I hope you agree. It was originally made for a challenge by 2sketchesfor you, and was inspired by the beautiful teapot image I received from a crafter from downunder (Laura) in an image swap, so I'm afraid I don't have the stamp details. I love it, though, and I wanted to use it for an official invitation for a Facebook Group friend, Cleo Scharf, to come to tea, so I hope you're seeing this, Cleo!

This is the sketch I based the layout on, which was by Ingrid, an artist for the 2sketchesforyou challenge team. I just flipped the orientation.

2Sketches4You ~ Christine's Sketch

This sketch was quite challenging, but I think I cracked it in the end! ;o) Just as well it's night-time, as glittery effects seem to photograph better in artificial light, and this one is blinged to the gills!!

I used some obscure Christmas papers from a pad I picked up yesterday which was on offer, some Sizzix snowflakes in white glitter CS, some gorgeous little sparkly crystal snowflakes by Dress-It-Up, and some Ixie Dust around the angel (a bit like Beadazzles). And, of course, I Stickled everything with Star Dust.

2Sketches4You ~ Kazan's Sketch No. 8

I should just about make it in time with my card for this week's challenge, I think! ;o) This is based on Kazan's Sketch #8.

The bottom edges of the rose papers look straight, but they are torn and then rolled and inked. The photo also doesn't show that the papers, the sentiment and the butterfly are all raised on 3D pads.

  • Flourish stamp: Rhonna Farrer

Tea Frogs...

This card is based (well, OK, I flipped it slightly!) on the fab bonus sketch on the 2Sketches4You challenge blog ~ Ingrid's debut! :o)
Inspired by some of the lovely autumnal cards that are beginning to appear in the 'sphere, these colours are a bit of a departure for me, but I love them! The lovely teapot was received in an image swap on the 'Crafts On The Net' forum. Don't know the manufacturer, but it came from my buddy, Laura, from downunder! :o)

Xmas Trees for Kazan & Emma..

This one was done for Emma's 'Embossing' challenge on her Sassy Crafts blog, HERE, and the layout was in accordance with Kazan's Sketch #7 on the 2Sketches4You challenge blog. My last few cards have been detailed, and took forever to make, and after my card for Gunhild, I felt the need.. the need to be free..... of clutter! So much simpler, this one. Not my fave, but it will do. (This goes against the grain for me.. one of my philosophies in life is " 'It'll do' won't do", but I'm feeling a bit more laid back at the mo. Must be the vodka. hehe ;o)

Paper and trees are from the 'Funky Little Christmas' download, available on the Funky Hand web-site, HERE. CS, bling, brad and ribbon from stash.

Card for Sammi's Blog Candy + Two Challenges...

This card was made for Sammi's blog candy challenge to "make a 'Celebration' card which includes the colour purple and some form of sparkles".
Well, I hope you can see that I've included some purple (!), but ~ as usual ~ it's hard to capture sparkles on camera. They are there, though! The parcels have some Stickles on, as does the icing on the cupcake.. the rosebuds and the insect wings have been painted with glitter glue.

The card layout is based on Laura's sketch #6 from last week on the 2Sketches4You challenge blog. More evidence that I'm having trouble keeping up with the card challenges at the moment!

Ooh!! Have just realised that this also qualifies for this week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge, to create a card using ribbon, with at least one Penny Black rubberstamp!! :o)

Most of the materials used will be easily recognised, but if you would like to know about any of the items, please feel free to ask in a comment or by email.

Fresh Craft

This is a belated entry for Laura's sketch #5 over at 2Sketches4You. Time and lack of mojo were against me in the past couple of weeks, so have fallen a bit behind with my crafting. Inks: Versafine Onyx black; Versacolor Olive green

Ribbon, ball chain, glitter peel-offs and embossed metal corner all from stash

Black Prince...

This card was made to Kazan's beautiful sketch this week from 2Sketches4You (see left), but also meets the criteria for this week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge which calls for a 'snow' theme, using at least one PB stamp. The stamp I used is 'Prance'.
Black cardstock was 'Cuttlebugged' with the Swiss Dots folder, and 'distressed' with Cotton White Staz-on, a white gel pen and Versamagic. I tipped fine white Art Institute glitter onto the surface of the ink while the Prance image was still wet.
Silver thread wrapped around to echo the white distress lines.
Snowflakes cut with two different Kaleidopunches.. Amethyst and Citrine. Also added a snowflake brad from stash, and some faux gems.
Frame around stamped image hand-drawn and cut.
Making Memories 'Heidi' alphabet rub-ons

Blue Delft...

A double-header this one, to save time. Based on Laura's fab sketch #5 over at 2 Sketches 4 You, it also meets the criteria for last Friday's Daring Cardmakers challenge to make a card using peel-offs! The photography isn't great, so will have another go tomorrow in daylight.

Delft blue Dutch-style peel-offs, Anita's alphabet peel-offs (coloured with Ultramarine Staz-on).
Blue Stardust Sakura pen.
White Souffle Sakura pen for scallops & doodled dots.
Swarovski crystal
Flower, pearl, lace, rosebud, shell charm & chain from stash

Woman of Spirit, believe...

This card was based on Kazan's beautiful sketch #3 on the 2sketches4you challenge blog. I really enjoyed making this one! It's soooo flamboyant and girlie, but also has in mind the number of women I have come across lately with tragic stories to tell, but stories usually of great courage, and it is my message to all of them.. that my thoughts are with you, Woman of Spirit.. Believe.

Papers: Laura Ashley from the Traditional 6" x 6" Designer paper Pack, and another beautiful rose print paper that I've had for a while and is unlabelled
Stamps: Stampabailities 'Thoughts Are With You' CR1072; Hero Arts 'Spirit Heart' E3391; 'Elegant Flourishes' by Rhonna Farrer
Metal embellishments: Making Memories 'Believe' charm; Corner scroll from stash
Glossy Accents used on Heart stamp, which is layered up
Flowers, pearl spray, brad and ric-rac from stash

Green Hope..

My latest catch-up attempt.. This is based on Kazan's sketch #2 at 2sketches4you. The broderie anglaise was chalked to give it an aged appearance, as were the edges of the background paper, and I used blended Prismacolor on the sentiment to achieve a similar effect, and added a smidge of clear Sakura Stardust to add some glitter to the twirly bits.
Papers: All from the khaki collection on the 'It's Funky Too' CD-Rom by Funky Hand
Flowers: Also from 'It's Funky Too'!!
Embossing: Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder
Chalks: Pebbles I'Kandee
Ribbon, broderie anglaise, inks and gems from stash
