Copyright Information

When you create something, you own the copyright automatically, and the rule of thumb is that nothing can be done with that design without the originator's express permission. Even saying 'All Rights Reserved' no longer has any legal significance by itself, as it is already included in copyright law, by default.
I have seen people in craft groups say 'Oh, I'll copy that!' or even recommend to others that they photocopy free papers from magazines, etc, and it will be justified by being 'just for personal use'.  No, no, NO! Not without permission! Those papers, for example, are not free to produce, so if you want more of them, buy another magazine, keep the papers and give the magazine to someone else. On the other hand, if you are a person who is comfortable with lying, cheating and stealing, then so be it. Crack on, but if you are a decent person with moral values, tread carefully out there. Sorry if that seems a bit judgy and preachy, but as you can probably tell, it's something I think is an important point of crafting etiquette.
Personally, I am not too precious about my copyright, on the whole. As crafters, we all tend to use the same pool of tools, techniques and images, so it can be difficult sometimes to avoid a similar look and feel. I am happy, therefore, for you to copy my designs for personal use, or for sale, subject to just a few conditions, as follows, and I hope this adds clarity, rather than confusion! You can always drop me an email if you have any questions, to chris.fraser1@btinternet.com.

OWNERSHIP
Unless stated otherwise, all designs on this blog are ©Christine Fraser 2002 through to current date. This copyright applies to all of these designs wherever they are published, online or in print.

ANGEL POLICY
You may copy my designs if you wish for personal use, or even for sale, but please note the restrictions below.

COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS
Your copies of my work and my photographs MUST NOT be entered into competitions, challenges or in any way represented as your own design in any circumstances.

You must obtain my written consent if you wish to publish your copies of my designs in any medium, including online, so if you are promoting cards for sale online that are copies of my designs, I want to know about it beforehand.

RECIPROCATION
I try to respect others' copyright, too, and would never knowingly copy anyone else's work, but if you see anything on my blog that I've inadvertently lifted from other sites that I shouldn't have, please let me know, and I will remove it immediately.
