Basic Grey Challenge #6 ~ Colour Combo

Not my proudest moment, this one, I'm afraid. Tried to emulate a style I had seen in Simply Cards & Papercraft #44 by Hebe Ambler in her patterned paper masterclass, and made the alphabet out of Basic Grey Ambrosia papers. OK so far, but then I decided there was too much white space at the top, so added the Rhonna Farrer flourish as an afterthought. Not entirely sure it works, but I like the DP letters.

This week's Basic Grey Challenge is all about colour combinations...
  • Green & Red/Moroon
  • Brown & Cream
  • Blue & Gold/Yellow/Orange
Why don't you pop over and take a look at the DT cards and have a go yourself? Would be great to see your creations! :o)

Chris, this is wonderful and if you don't like it, I will take it off your hands! How stunning. The words are wonderful and the flower and flourish are perfect. So is the itty bitties around the edge. Did you do those free hand and where did you learn?

Thank you for the nice comments, all. :o)

Shirley, not sure what you mean by 'itty bitties'? Is that what they call doodling in the US? If you mean the little black dots and dashes around the edge, then - yes - that was freehand, and I remember doing it when drawing maps at school when I was around 10, I think. We were learning about Ordnance Survey maps. I loved drawing maps! The dots and dashes used to represent something specific, if I remember, but I'm blowed if I can recall what that was! Railway lines, or roads, possibly.

Glad you like it, anyway. :o)

hugs,
Chris xx
