Christmas Card 2009

Thought it was time I posted something vaguely crafty! This is my main Christmas card for 2009, and I made thirty of them (all slightly different) a couple of weekends ago. Have been waiting for an opportunity to take photos in daylight, but have given up waiting, lol! ;o)

For colouring the mouse, I've used Koh-i-Noor pencils with Zest-It and paper stumps for blending. In the past, I have always avoided using rubberstamped images that need colouring because I'm rubbish at it! A five year old can manage it without any difficulty, but I can't! lol ;o) However, I took Elizabeth's recommendations about these special pencils (that's Elizabeth from Elzybells), and they make it all so easy and quick, and it looks great! Who needs Copics, Pro-Markers and Prisma pencils when you've got a set of Koh-i-Noors?! I couldn't be happier with them. :o)

I used up some A6 card blanks from Madaboutcards.com, using Great Impressions Pine Twig stamp with a Kaleidolcolor inkpad for a graduated effect as the base for the decorative corner, then a Woodware holly punch, with Marth Stewart Pine Branches, ribbon (or twine) bow, a McGill snowflake with a gem to finish it off. The greeting is an SU stamp, and the main image is (of course) Penny Black's Xmouse Ornament, coloured with Koh-i-Noors and blended with Zest-It & stumps, a dab of glitter on the snowflake, then matted and layered onto white card.

Gorgeous cards Chris. I just love Penny Black stamps and the little mouse is so cute. I'll have to see if I can get hold of one of the holly punches as it's just what I need for my cards this year.
Will be having a good go at finishing mine on Monday as I'm going to have a house full of workmen commencing the fitting of our new boiler and hot water tank etc. Looking forward to proper heating etc but NOT the workmen everywhere!!!

Great design and fabulous colouring Chris. I don't think those pencils would improve my colouring though ;)xx

Awwwww Chris, how lovely. What a cute little image. I'm sure they will be well received. I'm still working on mine, but at least I've started, didn't even get that far last year.

Awwwww Chris

I love your mices to pieces!!!

Your colouring is wonderful - can't believe it is just because of your new found pencils!! You must have natural talent too!

Just noticed that you only have two CDs left to sell for your Papworth Fundraising. Oh I do hope you manage to reach your goal.

Love Jules xx

Lovely cards Chris. Penny Black are one of my favourites - especially the cuties! I've just started my Christmas Cards - I'll have to get a move on or all joy and merry making will be here!!!

Morning Chris

Love then to bits. Anything PB is a hit with me, but love the simplistic elegance of these adn 30 of them, clever girl.

Takes me forever, I seem to have been making Christmas cards since the ice age and think I'm still a few short. Trouble is I make those for my orders and my own always get left.

Have a good weekend, sure you have something planned !

These cards are gorgeous and I just LOVE that little mouse! The colouring is excellent! I'm not very good at colouring and with so many things on the market I use plain old colouring pencils cos I can't make up my mind which colourers to buy LOL - if these are that easy to get such a good result I may have to invest. Thanks for the tip Chris.
