Thank You card for Gunhild Bay..

Regular visitors will recall the fuss I made when I won this blog candy from Gunhild of Stempelglede in Norway. I am just awe-struck by the beauty of these stamps, and THRILLED with my first card made using them!
This is on its way to Norway, but I don't think Gunhild frequents my blog, so I'm OK posting this now. (I hope!) I couldn't wait, anyway! I'm so happy with it! :o)

The only thing I'm not sure about is the diagonal blue ribbon. It's too severe. I'm thinking I might make a bow in the same ribbon, and tuck it behind one of the flowers, so it's peeking out. What do you think? Or maybe three tiny diamantés leading up the ribbon where it crosses the lace, starting near the flowers?

This is the recipe:

  • 'Thanks' definitions text panel is computer-generated and printed directly onto the card.
  • Leaf spray stamp is Hero Arts
  • The frame was hand-drawn and cut out, then inked and glittered with Stardust Stickles.
  • The white lace was daubed lightly with the same ink.
  • The flowers and the scroll were all stamped with the Stempelglede "Grunge Collection" stamps that I won.
  • The 'Thank You' stamp is an old foam-backed one that I had in my old stash
  • The heart charm is one of those brass 'Hand Made With Love' hearts, but I wanted a plain silver one, so I used silver embossing powder.
  • I don't have any hat pins, so I used a head pin instead with some Swarovski beads.
I hope you like it.

Hi Chris,

Thank you so so much for your lovely comments about my cards and about my Pink Petticoat card.

I love your latest card (and I love those stamps too!). I think the composition of the card is lovely and the blue ribbon is perfectly incorporated into the card design. It is lovely as it is, but if you are asking for a choice I think I would probably choose diamante`s! (I just love a bit of glitz!). It is a gorgeous card though, and I LOVE your hand drawn frame and the beaded pin xxx

Christine this is lovely, your work is always stunning.
The cascade of flowers is so pretty. As you say the ribbon is not quite right, but not sure why maybe like you say put a bow of the same colour near the bottom flowers to balance it. It dos'nt seem as suttle as the rest of the card maybe. Hope you don't mind my comment. Su x

Stunning card, and I love the pin with the beads, I can see what you mean about the ribbon, perhaps the colour is a bit heavy, but longing to see the new picture... I think those flowers are just gorgeous.
